The What is my IP page sends your IP address to our API only to show you its approximate location and network. We don’t save it to any database or link it to you; it may appear briefly in our server logs and is cached for up to 5 minutes to speed up repeat visits.

What this shows

Every device that talks to the internet does it from a public IP address. Websites you visit see this address, and from it they can estimate your country, region, city and the network (ASN) you connect through. This page shows you that same view.

  • IPv4 or IPv6: if your connection supports IPv6, you may see an IPv6 address here and an IPv4 address elsewhere. Both are yours.
  • Location is approximate. It points to where your network is registered and routed, often your provider’s nearest hub, not your home.
  • Behind a VPN or privacy relay, you’ll see the exit’s IP and location, not your own.

Get the same data from code

Need this for your own visitors? The IP geolocation API returns country, region, city, coordinates, timezone, ASN and network for any IPv4 or IPv6 address, with accuracy_radius_km and confidence on every lookup. GET /v0/ip looks up the caller’s own IP.

GET /v0/ip/{ip}
$ curl -s https://api.networkdatalabs.com/v0/ip/8.8.8.8 \
    -H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY" \
    | jq '{ip, country: .location.country_code, city: .location.city, asn: .network.asn}'

{
  "ip": "8.8.8.8",
  "country": "US",
  "city": "Mountain View",
  "asn": 15169
}

Free: 1,000 requests/month, 1 request/second, geolocation + ASN, for personal and non-commercial use. Paid plans add commercial use, bulk lookups and risk flags: Tor exit, known VPN networks, privacy relay and hosting.

FAQ

Is my IP address private?

No. Every site and service you connect to sees your public IP. It reveals your approximate area and your network provider, not your name or street address.

Why does the city look wrong?

IP location is an estimate. City is often the nearest hub of your provider, and mobile networks can route through another city or region. Country is the most reliable level.

Why do I see a different IP on another site?

Your connection may have both an IPv4 and an IPv6 address, or your provider may change your IP from time to time. Both are normal.

How do I look up someone else’s IP?

Use the live demo on the home page or the API: GET /v0/ip/{ip} works for any public IPv4 or IPv6 address.
